How to Make Pom-Pom Headband at Home
Hello, fellow crafters! This Pom-pom headband was the very first DIY I made when I started my very first Youtube channel way back in 2015. I was so excited back then and I was eager to put something up right away. So I decided to make this project because it is super quick and easy, with no patterns or complicated instructions needed. The colors are lovely, making it perfect for parties or giveaways because it’s also affordable and can be done at the last minute.
I learned this from my mother back when I was in elementary school. I joined a program, and she made a hair accessory for me. The only difference is that she sewed the pom-poms around the headband because we did not have a glue gun back then.
Alright, let’s get crafting! Just a heads-up—I’ll be using a hot glue gun for this project. If you’re a younger crafter, make sure you have an adult nearby to help. The glue can get pretty hot—I’ve had a few “ouch” moments myself! But don’t worry, with a little care, you’ll do great!
Supplies:
- Plain headband
- Small pom poms (any colors you prefer)
- Hot glue gun
Steps:
- Start by gluing the pom-poms about 2 inches away from the tip. This space is for your ears, so you don’t want any pom-poms there.
- Glue the pom-poms in alternating colors. Using three colors usually gives the best look. You can also make it with a single color.
That’s it! It’s so easy—you can make over 20 of these in just 30 minutes.
You can find the supplies at the craft stores. I bought the headband and pom-poms at the Dollar Tree store. You can also recycle your old headband if you have one and make pom-pom balls from yarn.

Hope you like this DIY pom pom headband. It’s a simple and pretty hair accessory.
